Abstract: The colored self-compacting mortars (C-SCM) extends the application spectrum of SCM, especially devotes to architectural structures. Pigments are the most widely used for changing the color system of C-SCM. This paper shows the effect of pigment’s addition on the properties of self-compacting mortars (SCM).Three different pigments, the copper phthalocyanines based for green colored SCM, two iron-oxides based for red and yellow colored SCM, respectively, were investigated. The influence of the different pigments’ addition on mortar rheology was studied by means of rheological tests. Then the workability of fresh mortar was determined by means of slump flow. The compressive strength and bending strength of the mortar were measured at different curing ages. Moreover, the phase composition and micro-structure of colored mortar were examined via powder X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy.
