Abstract: Due to the high concentration of harmful chemical ions and complex environment, the service performance of concrete materials and time-varying of the concrete in the marine environment would not be the same as its in the normal condition. The property degradations of cement-based materials was studied under free and restrained condition with dry-wet cycles in artificial sea water. The experimental results indicated that the microstructure of cement-based materials changed obviously after degraded 120 cycles under restrained condition with drying-wetting cycles in sea water, and the growth rate of total pore volume reached 28.58%. SEM/EDS and XRD analysis showed that the crystalline mixture on the surface of cement-based materials was mainly composed of sodium sulphate, sodium chloride, magnesium sulphate.
