Abstract: Ultra high performance concrete (UHPC) is a kind of concrete material with ultra high strength and durability. The compressive strength of UHPC is greater than 100MPa, and each performance is very good. However, due to the high cost of raw materials such as steel fiber and quartz, the application of UHPC is limited. In this paper, a kind of economical UHPC is prepared by alternative raw materials such as river sand and gravel at conventional process condition. The mechanical properties, durability and microstructure of UHPC are studied. The test results show that the mechanical properties and durability of UHPC are much better than ordinary concrete. Economic UHPC can be prepared by conventional materials. The flexural property of UHPC added with coarse aggregate is reduced, but the compressive strength is still high.
