Abstract: In this paper, split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) was employed to study the effect of coarse aggregate on the dynamic tensile strength of ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC). Test results showed the strength of coarse aggregate has significant influence on the dynamic tensile strength of UHPC. The strength of UHPC can be improved effectively when the aggregate was matched with the strength and stiffness of the matrix. The influence of aggregate strength on UHPC is related to the aggregate elastic modulus.
