Abstract: To achieve ultra-high tensile ductility, a new cementitious material, ultra-high ductile cementitious composites (UHDCC), is developed. The details of mixture and mechanical tests on UHDCC materials are introduced in the present paper. Uniaxial tension test demonstrated the strain hardening behavior and ultra-high tensile capacity of UHDCC. It indicates UHDCC possessed the averaged tensile strain at peak stress over 8% with some mixture even exceeding 12%. Moreover, UHDCC exhibited the compressive strength ranging from 45.9MPa to 121.5MPa. The superior mechanical property of UHDCC makes a wider prospective in
application for ultra-high performance concrete.
