Abstract: Compressive load can make cracks generate in the concrete, which can make durability of concrete degraded. The degree of damage, absorption of water and chloride permeability of Nano-SiO2 cement after compressive load effect was tested to study the influence characteristics of compressive load on permeability of Nano-SiO2 cement and the improving effect of Nano-SiO2 on cement in this research. The results show that after compressive load with the same level, the deterioration degree of cement with higher compressive strength is much lower than that of cement with lower compressive strength. Moreover, Nano-SiO2 can greatly accelerate the reduction of initial water absorption and the inhibition of chloride ionpenetration. Therefore, Nano-SiO2 plays more prominent role to improve the permeability of cement, after compressive load, as compressive strength of cement becomes higher.
