Abstract: The properties of the fiber/matrix interface are of primary significance for the mechanical property and durability of fiber reinforced cement-based composites. Generally speaking, the better the bond, the better composites. Therefore, interface bond strengthening has important significance. In the paper, sol gel method was used to treat carbon fiber’s surface. Using scanning electron microscope(SEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) analysis of surface modification effect, the optimum solution of PH, ethyl silicate and water volume ratio (E/W), the dosage of ethanol (C), the reaction temperature (T) are detected. Furthermore, through the pull-out test of the interface performance was quantified. the results showed that the best solution of carbon fiber surface modification effect was E/W=12/12, PH=2~3, C=100ml, T=40 C. The specific surface area of compatibility was good and interface bonding was firm in carbon fiber/cement composites, the 28d bond strength of treated carbon fiber cement matrix interface reached 3.1574 MPa, compared with the untreated carbon fiber increased by 204%.
