Abstract: Accurate representation of modal parameters is a significant consideration on structural analysis, wind and earthquake response of long-span bridges. The orthotropic steel-UHPC composite deck system may present a potential solution to fatigue cracking of steel bridge with orthotropic steel bridge deck (OSBD), and may be widely used in bridge engineering in the future. In order to understand the modal characteristics of New Fochen Bridge with orthotropic steel-UHPC composite deck system, and evaluate modal difference between the OSBD with the traditional SMA overlayvibration test equipment was applied inside the steel box girder of the New Fochen Bridge which facilitates to assess the stiffness contribution from this structure to the whole bridge. The reference-based measurement is carried out under the environment excitation, and modal parameters, including the frequency and modal shape as well as damping ratio, are identified via the system identification method. Reasonable results are presented.
