Abstract: This paper is focused on the catalogue of the construction products and materials from
secondary raw materials originated from construction and demolition waste. The main aim
of this catalogue is implementation of European Union regulations and transition to a circular
economy in the Czech Republic. In each European country, there are different reasons for the
use or non-use the secondary raw materials. The main reason for non-use of products which
contain recycled materials is lack of confidence in these products in the Czech Republic.
For this reason, the catalogue defines secondary raw materials and its possibilities of reuse,
recycling and further use. Architects, designers, civil engineers, civil servants and others will
use this catalogue. It will serve the higher utilization of recycled materials in construction
industry in the Czech Republic. Another goal is to find and fill gaps in standard and legislative
requirements for secondary raw materials utilization. It was found that the main problem
of down-cycling of recycled materials and its use as backfill layers, technological material
to make landfills safe and landfilling is low quality of sorting during demolition. For this reason,
the standard or national decree of the selective demolition process will be developed. Due to the
lower recovery rate of the use of secondary materials in building structures and components
than in transportation engineering, the paper is focused on this field.
