Abstract: Since there is a trend to use more flowable concrete and additional concrete properties, f. e. air-void concrete, the sedimentation stability gets more relevant compared to common concrete. Though, stability has to be assessed in design and in planting process. However, there are no performance tests that allow assessing the stability of flowable regular vibrated concretes independent of rheological measurements that are only suitable for laboratory use. Decisive factors are the properties of the concrete and parameters of compaction. In this paper, the sedimentation state of the aggregate is used to investigate the influence of frequency and duration of compaction on stability. It is determined by a modified wash out test and sedimentation pipe as used in testing of SCC. Previous work shows this approach to be feasible because rheological properties are taken into account integratively. The results show the considered test methods generally suitable for use on site and indicate the compaction parameters to be the decisive factor in stability of vibrated concretes.
