Abstract: This paper presents results of an experimental study on workability and strength development of Metakaolin-based geopolymers. An approach is presented for geopolymer pastes in order to optimize, i.e. reduce the amount of silicate solution and metakaolin powder by incorporation of fillers: fly ash, trass and limestone powder. The liquid silicate solution content was varied on the one hand, and the metakaolin replacement fraction of the powders on the other. Both a higher liquid content and a metakaolin replacement proportion by fly ash or limestone cause an increase in the spread flow. From an economic and environmental point of view, the advantageous use of fly ash or limestone instead of silicate solution and/or metakaolin is proposed.
