Abstract: This paper presents partial preliminary results of a comprehensive experimental programme
to study the influence of fly ash and slag on the mechanical properties of common concretes,
particularly those related to drying shrinkage. The measurements from specimens pertaining
to 15 concrete mixes (with 15% mineral admixture dosage) indicate that the shrinkage strains
are similar as long as the binder content and water to binder ratio of the concrete is the same,
though the compressive strength may differ.
