Abstract: Mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP) has been widely used for evaluating the pore structure of hardened cement paste. However, testing procedures involving mercury are dangerous and cause environmental damage. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the pore structure of hardened cement paste mixed with fly ash using thermoporometry by means of low- temperature differential scanning calorimetry measurements, as an alternative to MIP. The suitability of this approach to evaluating the pore structure of hardened cement paste was demonstrated in this study.
