Abstract: As one of the Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC), the Reactive Powder Concrete
(RPC), a cementitious-based material with ultra-high compressive strength and remarkable
durability, is regarded as the next generation concrete of a promising application in civil
engineering. The Chinese national standard,Reactive Powder Concrete(GB/T 31387-2015),
on the preparation of the RPC has been issued in 2015, but there is no any national technical
specification about the structural design of RPC structures in present China yet. In this paper,
with the compiling of Hunan Provincial standard of Technical Specification for RPC Structures
that has been released in Novmember,2017, the background and general content of the
specification were introduced, and some key design principles for RPC structures were
discussed. The standard values of axial compressive strength and initial crack strength of the
RPC are 0.7 times and 0.047 times of cube compressive strength respectively. The tensile
strength is related to fiber volume and fiber shape parameters, and the influence coefficient of
steel fiber on axial tensile strength is 0.15. Elastic modulus of RPC100 ~ RPC180 is between
40GPa ~ 48.6GPa. The rules about flexural bearing capacity don't consider the tensile
contribution of RPC in the tension zone for the sake of design simplicity preferred by the
structural engineers. By introducing the influence coefficient of steel fiber βv, βp, βw, βB ,
respectively and based on the reliability analysis results, the shear bearing capacity, punching
shear capacity, crack width and deflection calculation formula are acquired.
