Abstract: To study the simplified design method of normal section bending of ultra high
performance concrete (UHPC) slab, the constitutive relationship applicable to UHPC slabs
was selected. The bending process of the slabs is simplified into three calculation stages:
elastic stage, yield stage, and failure stage. The formulas bearing capacity is given for each
stage. Based on these formulas, a simplified design method for the bending UHPC slabs is
proposed, the graphic coefficient α and the height coefficient β of the whole process are given,
and a simplified calculation formula for the elastic bending stiffness is given. The bending
moment-curvature curves of the simplified calculation are compared with the existing
experimental results. The results show that the tensile constitutive relation considering strain
hardening is suitable for the bending design of UHPC slab. The simplified design method
proposed in this paper can analyze the bending process of UHPC slab well.
