Abstract: The early-age and long-term shrinkage of steam curing ultra-high performance fiber
reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) was investigated. Fly ash and slag was used and the effect of
mineral admixtures on the early-age and long-term shrinkage of UHPFRC was clarified. The
effect of Shrinkage reducing agent and expanding agent on the early-age and long-term
shrinkage of UHPFRC was discussed. The results show that the total shrinkage up to 1800με
of the early-age shrinkage of UHPFRC could be divided into 5 parts. The long-term shrinkage
in 7d to 60d was only 150με, and the swell was about 220με till 180d. UHPFRC with steam
curing presents remarkable volume stability. The early-age shrinkage of UHPFRC was
remarkably restrained by fly ash, slag, shrinkage reducing agent and expanding agent. For the
long-term shrinkage and swell, slag presents better restraining effect than fly ash. The
overdose of expanding agent might sharply increase the plastic shrinkage of UHPFRC at
initial hydration time, which requires special attention.
