Abstract: A kind of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) for rapid repair of pavement is prepared in
this work. Under standard curing conditions, the compressive and flexural strengths of SFRC
were 60 MPa and 8 MPa at 1 day. The coarse aggregates used in this study were basalt gravel
with a size of 3-5 mm. The size of the specimens was 40 mm × 40 mm × 160 mm. On this basis,
steam curing technology was used to improve the early strength of SFRC. The effects of water-
to-binder ratio and steam curing parameters including rest period, constant temperature and
constant temperature time on the compressive strength of SFRC were studied. Results indicated
that the optimal steam curing parameters of SFRC was heating up at the rate of 30°C/h for 2
hours to 90°C after staying rest period for 4 hours at normal temperature, and then remaining
for 4 hours at 90°C. The compressive strength and flexural strengths of the specimens after
steam curing were 137.3 MPa and 11.4 MPa, respectively. These results provide a theoretical
basis and reference value for the application of using steam curing on SFRC for rapid repairof
pavement.
