Abstract: Ultra-high Performance Concrete (UHPC) is a new kind of cement-based engineering
material which possess outstanding mechanical and durable characteristics. In this paper,
UHPC was proposed to be used in the construction of trestle to make it more durable with
lighter structure. Based on the Quanzhou Bay Bridge, which is a part of the Fuzhou-Xiamen
express railway, a structure design plan about the bridge panel using UHPC was put forward
and verified through theoretical calculation and a serials of experiments. Using indoor model
tests, taking the construction load into consideration, the load-bearing performance of the
UHPC panel with different mix proportion and reinforcement ratio was studied in this paper.
By exerting load on the bridge, the stress characteristics and reliability of this trestle which
constructed by using new material was verified. Through this research, a strong demonstration
effect is provided in the promotion and application of UHPC in the bridge temporary works.
