Abstract: The steel-UHPC lightweight composite deck structure can solve the problems of steel
bridge, such as fatigue cracking and the damage of asphalt overlay and so on. In order to
study the transverse bending performance and crack distribution characteristics of steel-
UHPC composite deck, fourteen steel-UHPC composite plates were tested. The test results
show that, increasing the reinforcement ratio, reducing the cover thickness and the stud
spacing can improve the cracking stress of the component. The number of cracks of
unreinforced steel-UHPC composite plates is less, and the crack develops rapidly after
cracking. The crack of dense reinforced steel- UHPC composite plates is thin and dense.
Based on the proposed method for calculating the steel stress, the cracking load calculated
according to the French code agrees well with the measured results.
