Abstract: The Holy Aedicule in the Church of Resurrection in Jerusalem, sometime after its most recent reconstruction in 1810, encountered deformation problems upon the facades of all sides. Within the framework of a diagnostic study, Non- destructive testing (NDT) and analytical methods were employed to determine the cause of the deformations. The present work aims to highlight the unique and definitive role that NDTs constituted, regarding the prospection of the Aedicule’s structural layers, the monitoring throughout all the rehabilitation works’ phases and the assessment of the conservation intervention materials enabling the scientific support to decision making.
