Abstract: The autogenous deformation includes mechanisms such as chemical shrinkage, self-desiccation and swelling. These contributions are studied through a new decoupling methodology. The effect of temperature and presence of blast-furnace slag on these processes is studied. It is confirmed that the swelling occurring at early age results from the formation of hydration products such as ettringite. The temperature effects include maturity-based considerations, a change in internal relative humidity, as well as a change in the enthalpy of dissolution of ettringite. A unified model is proposed, taking into consideration these processes and their dependency on temperature and the presence of blast-furnace slag.
