Abstract: We propose in this study the comparison of two characterization approaches to identify the thermal fingerprint of a binder. The first approach is based on standard tests performed at two different temperatures, isothermal calorimetry on cement paste, calibrated tests on mortar or concrete. The second one is based on a more industrial test, a quasi-adiabatic test on mortar at a single temperature, using a non calibrated calorimeter. The influence of the characterization will be studied on the prediction of maximum temperature and thermal gradient on a massive structure.
