Abstract: The study consists of developing a construction product without calcinations containing clay with aluminium hydroxide. Two clays are studied with or without gibbsite. The mineral and chemical compositions were determined by X-ray diffractometry and by Scanning Electron Microscope. To make mortar formulations, the reference kaolin and the natural clay of Cameroon were substituted by amorphous aluminium hydroxide to 10 and 20%. The compressive strengths were made to 3, 7 and 28 days. The pozzolanic activity of the selected kaolins was studied by standard ASTM C618. A microstructural analysis was carried out on the mortars in a hardened state.
