Abstract: Recent human activity on the coastline has had a great impact on the environment. Reflection on the maintenance of submarine biodiversity has thus become crucial. The eco- design approach has made it possible to integrate environmental objectives of the structural design by fulfilling its primary technical function as well as an environmental function. The maintenance of underwater diversity through eco-design consideration of structures is a global and systemic approach that goes from the development of the program by the Client to the execution phase. This approach involves various actors at all stages of the project and allows the Client to better manage the project and its process. The application of this methodology to structures such as artificial reefs and dead bodies in the Gulf of Ajaccio has highlighted the eco- design needs which necessarily combine technical requirements in terms of durability and resistance with ecological functions leading to bio-mimicry. Eco-design remains an approach with pluralistic solutions depending on the environment, the type of structure...
