Abstract: Particle size distribution and content of nano-particles of silica fume were analyzed by transmission electron microscopy and laser particle size analyzer. As a result, we put forward the concept that silica fume is a kind of ecological nano mineral admixture. The influence of high volume silica fume on flowability and mechanical properties in the condition of single mixing and combined mixing with fly ash was studied. The results showed that the material reached the highest strength when mixed with 30% silica fume and 10% fly ash. Comprehensive consideration of flowability and strength indicated the best content of silica fume is 20%. Factors such as curing conditions, volume of steel fiber were also studied.
