Abstract: In this paper, a series of axial compressive tests were carried out to investigate the stress- strain relationship of concrete suffering from alkali silica reaction attack at different periods. Later, a simple mathematical model that permits the prediction of stress-strain relationships was suggested for concrete under alkali silica reaction. It is shown that the alkali silica reaction induced expansion due to the progressive alkali silica gel is an important damage in concrete structures, and can be used to estimate the influence of alkali silica reaction on the mechanical properties change. The model was deduced by considering values of expansion tests and compressive strength of different concrete under alkali silica reaction. The parameters needed to run the model contained the 28 days compressive strength of concrete, the peak compressive strength and its related strain of concrete without alkali silica reaction attack. The result calculated by the model show a well agreement with the experimental tests and literature results.
