Abstract: In this paper, two mathematical models describing heat and moisture transfer in porous material
were solved numerically. The results were compared to the experimental data under the same
variation condition of both temperature and relative humidity through a date palm fibers concrete
wall. The mesh sensitivity analysis was carried out and the optimum mesh level is determined.
Numerical temperature and relative humidity profiles were compared at different depths of the wall
to the experimental ones. A quite good agreement was obtained especially for the estimation of
heat transfer. For moisture transfer, more attention should be payed to water content history in the
material, as well as the hysteresis effect.
