The First International Conference on Chemically-Activated Materials (CAM2010) was held in Jinan, China, May 9-12, 2010. More than 80 participants worldwide attended the conference and 29 papers were selected for publication in the RILEM Proceedings Pro 72.
The Second International Conference on Chemically-Activated Materials (CAM2014) was held in Changsha, China, June 1-13, 2014. More than 90 participants worldwide attended the conference and 36 papers were selected for publication in the RILEM Proceedings Pro 92.
The Third International Conference on Chemically-Activated Materials (CAM2017) was held in Gold Coast, Australia, August 8-11, 2017. More than 90 participants worldwide attended the conference.
During the past four years, chemically-activated materials (CAMs) have attracted worldwide attentions due to their simple production process, effective utilization of industrial by-products/wastes, low enery consumption and greenhouse gas emission. As green alternatives to traditional cement and concrete, CAMs become so popular in the recent decades due to the drivers of carbon neutral and sustainable development. Significant progress has been made in the research and potential applications of CAMs, which have been reflected in the RILEM Proceedings Pro 135 of the Fourth International Conference on Chemically Activated Materials (CAM2021).
The Organizing Committee of the CAM2021 received 39 papers during the conference. Many outstanding experts on CAM have been invited to make presentation and exchange in the conference. This proceeding covers several key aspects of CAM science and technology, including selection and characteristics of raw materials, hydration and microstructure, use of chemical and mineral admixtures, concrete mix design and production, mechanicales and durability, fire resistance, testing methods, structural design and testing.
