Abstract: This paper addresses the group of fiber reinforced cementitious composites, which exhibit strain hardening behavior due to the bridging of fine multiple cracks by short, well distributed fibers. After a short introduction into the material design of such com-posites an extensive fracture mechanical testing program on an ECC (Engineered Ce-mentitious Composite) is presented. The main parameters of the experimental study were the test set-up and the size of the specimens.
