Abstract: Bending tests were carried out on steel tube specimens covered with multiple-crack-type concrete (MCC) having coarse aggregate. Cracks were observed through a microscope during the failure process. The crack width in MCC with spiral and axial rebars welded to the tubes was smaller (less than 0.15 m), and the number of cracks greater, than in steel fiber-reinforced and plain concretes for steel tube covering. The crack properties of MCC were excellent.
Keywords: crack, multiple-crack-type concrete, DFRCC, steel tube, bending
