Abstract: The paper summarizes knowledge about shear failure of R/HPFRCC structural elements that has been experimentally obtained by various research groups. Simplified models for prediction of shear load capacity of R/HPFRCC members are reviewed and checked against available experimental data. Finally, potential of employing finite element analysis to clarify the mechanism of shear in failure R/HPFRCC members is demonstrated on a simulation of an experiment.
