Abstract: The primary characteristic of HPFRCC (High Performance Fiber Reinforced Cement Composites) is a quasi-strain hardening behavior by the dispersed generation of fine cracks under the tensile-stress. Uniaxial loading tests of short columns and biaxial loading tests were conducted to see how the characteristic affected the confinement effect under the compressive stress and the reduction of compressive properties after the crack generation. As a result, it was verified that the relative merits or demerits of HPFRCC tensile properties wouldn’t be expressed on the confinement effect or compressive properties after the crack generation
