Abstract: The design of stitch bonded multiaxial multi-plies for reinforcing concrete depends on the specific usage. A key feature is the shape accuracy of the open grid structure, characterized among other things by the bending, displacement and shear properties. This is one key reason for a subsequent stabilization step, the coating process. The coating device integrated in the production process is influenced by a number of factors such as material, structure and manufacturing properties. By determining these factors it is possible to ensure the reproducible shape accuracy of the textile reinforcement. A new pattern device for stitch bonding machines based on the shifting of the warping needles has been developed. This de-vice improves the versatility and adaptability of stitch bonded textiles for the application in cement based as well as other composites. For the first time, symmetric layer compositions of stitch bonded multi-plies can be achieved in one work step.
