Abstract: Textile Reinforced Concrete (TRC) is a very suitable composite material for the production of thin lightweight elements like façade panels. At this time some projects have been realized using textile reinforced elements. An important demand for the production of these elements is the availability of dimensioning methods. The well-known design methods for ordinary reinforced concrete cannot be applied to TRC-structures because the load-bearing behavior of TRC is different. The reasons are the differences in the bond performance and material properties of the textile reinforcement and reinforcing steel. Therefore extensive investigations have been carried out in which varying textile properties and loadings as tension, bending and shear were considered. Based on the results of the experimental and theoretical investigations design methods for tension, bending and shear loading have been derived which allow for the dimensioning of TRC-structures.
