Abstract: Autogenous deformation and thermal dilatation are the most important driving forces with respect to the formation of load-independent strains in hardening concrete structures. In this context, this paper deals with the statistical evaluation of autogenous deformation tests of high performance mortar, performed in the Round-Robin test program of the RILEM TC 195-DTD. The database was comprised of 30 dilatation rigs test results under isothermal curing conditions performed by ten laboratories worldwide.
The main part of the study is focused on the evaluation of the influence of the test conditions on the statistical properties of autogenous deformations. A simple graphical procedure for the estimation of outliers is suggested. An analysis of the probability density function of the autogenous deformation depending on time is given. Possible sources of errors are discussed from a statistical point of view.
