Abstract:
A testing method of crack opening displacement (COD) measurement for highly ductile cementitious composites, ECC, was proposed on the basis of uniaxial tensile test and verified experimentally. A simplified method of counting the number of cracks, as well as the method directly observing COD, was found to be useful giving averaged COD in a satisfactory accuracy. The maximum COD of ECC taking into account possible variation at a tensile strain between 0.2 and 1.0 percent resulted in a constant value regardless of tensile strains.
