Abstract:
One major application field of textile reinforced concrete as an innovative building material are load bearing structural elements in various types of buildings. Due to this, the fire resistance is a very crucial point, which has to be taken into account while investigating such a new building material. Within the Collaborative Research Center SFB 532 and in cooperation with the University of Stuttgart several fire resistance tests under static loads were already carried out. The tests were performed on I-shaped concrete beams reinforced with alkali-resistance (AR-) glass and carbon textiles. The results reveal that the carbon textile reinforced specimen can bear a standardized fire load up to 95 minutes. However, the tests also show that the fire resistance of TRC with AR-Glass reinforcement needs to be improved for certain applications. So in this paper ways to improve the fire resistance of TRC-specimen reinforced with AR-Glass and the aim of future research will be presented.
