Abstract: This paper describes a method for testing fresh dynamic segregation resistance of selfcompacting concrete (SCC) using the settlement column segregation test. The settlement column test which is filled with fresh SCC was subjected to a controlled jolting action followed by settlement period of 5 minutes in order to determine the dynamic segregation resistance. An investigation was carried out to evaluate the repeatability and sensitivity of the segregation resistance of fresh SCC and determine the segregation threshold. The test method is also used for the same mixes to determine the segregation of hardened SCC. The sensitivity of the test results to the variation of dosage of the superplasticizer (SP) was evaluated. A good relationship between segregation ratios of both fresh SCC and hardened SCC measured by the settlement column test was established. Four categories of segregation from the settlement column test provide numerical values of ratio of segregation.
