Abstract: In this paper, a simple thixotropy model for fresh concretes is presented. Two applications of the model are also briefly presented as examples of application (pressure formwork prediction and multilayer casting of fluid concretes). It is shown that according to the element to be cast (slab or wall), a non-thixotropic SCC (low flocculation rate) or a highly thixotropic SCC (high flocculation rate) are respectively more adapted.
