Abstract: The pumping of concrete is an usual work in the construction site. It is well known to concrete workers that the pressure in pump is dependent on the pipe arrangement, the pumping speed and the properties of fresh concrete. However, the effects of those factors were not discussed quantitatively because the mechanism of pressure loss is not clarified, and a few research report the pumping of fresh concrete from the rheological point of view. In this paper, a computer simulation is carried out to analyze the behavior of fresh concrete in the conveying pipe. Pumping experiments are also carried out for examining the applicability of this computer simulation method.
