Abstract: Bingham constants, which are Bingham yield stress and plastic viscosity, are well used to characterize the fluidity of fresh concrete. In order to understand and compare the difference between the test results of the Bingham constants measured by different test apparatuses or methods, the effects of test conditions on the test results of the Bingham constants are investigated for self-compacting concrete in this study. The dependence of measured Bingham constants on normal stress on the shear plane, and level and distribution range of shear rates used in the measurement, etc. is clarified.
