Abstract: Historic buildings and centres, an important part of our cultural heritage, need to be preserved. In order to reach the goal a deep knowledge is needed.
The main objective of an EC project involving 15 partners was the development and improvement of methodologies for the evaluation of structure and material properties. These methodologies are based on non-destructive (NDT) and minor destructive (MDT) testing methods which are adapted and optimised to assess selected damages and testing problems. The achieved results of the project are outlined.
