Abstract:
It is well known that the damage on concrete is increasing under water condition. Waterproofing that have a function to protect concrete deck slab from rainwater is important technology to keep service life of aged bridges and highway with heavy traffic loads. And also it is effective in keeping service life of concrete structure to select waterproof materials with function matching to required performance. Therefore in order to keep service life of concrete deck slab, the materials selection system for waterproofing which satisfied a mechanical function to be required on travelling wheel loads is achieved.
The developed system is based on FEM analysis to simulate the damage of waterproof layer for the dynamic wheel load. FEM model for investigating the mechanical characteristics which are the shear stress in waterproof layer and the vertical displacement of pavement surface is laminating structure which is consist of concrete deck slab, waterproof layer and pavement layer. And this developed system is consisted of a part to evaluate and a part to select waterproofing materials with required specifications. And also, the developed system has an estimating function of durability which is predicted by a point of view whether the specifications of waterproofing materials are enough to keep required service life.
