Abstract: The presented model is based on recent Swedish research within the areas of temperature and moisture in concrete. The model is a material related semi-empirical description based on basic observations at well defined conditions on both macro and meso levels. In this way the model may be used for inter- and extrapolations for many of the material components in the concrete.
For instance, a new part of the modelling has been introduced to take into account the effects of micro fillers with respect to the shape of the moisture isotherms both in time and for different moisture levels. This is done with respect to the quantification of the pore structure in the hydrating concrete, which is one of the key properties when describing the moisture state within the concrete.
A computer program has been developed, where at first the temperature state is determined and then the moisture state is calculated based on the resulting temperatures. Such calculations could for instance be used when you both want to simulate both form stripping times and design the necessary drying period for a certain construction.
