Abstract: Light-burnt dolomite was obtained through calcining dolomite in the prearrange temperature and duration time, which composed of active magnesia and un-decomposed calcium carbonate. Portland cement and light-burnt dolomite were interground at various additions of light-burnt dolomite in the experimental ball mill and result in an cementitious material. The performances of this cementitious material were investigated by examination of physical properties, XRD and SEM methods. The results show that the early strength of the paste blended with various content of light-burnt dolomite powder is lower that that of the conventional Portland cement paste. The morphology of hydration products were investigated by means of SEM and XRD techniques.
