Abstract: The presence forms of MgO in reconstructing steel slag process were studied by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM), energy dispersion(EDS) and Metallurgical Microscopy. The results show that the main forms of MgO in reconstructedsteel slag is free MgO and RO phase in the form of wustite. The reconstructing process of steel slag is advantage to make MgO dissolve into RO phase. Some free MgO recrystallizes to be more perfectly in reconstructed-steel slag, especially steel slag was reconstructed at high temperature.
