Abstract: The macro-property is extrinsic reflection of change in intrinsic microstructure, and it is an effective way to study the character of the soil. In this paper, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was applied to investigate the microstructure of the Jiangmen high organic soil before and after solidifying. The quantitative tests of microstructure had been performed, and equivalent diameter, abundance and direction frequency of granule had been gained.
According to these quantitative data, the size, shape and directionality of granule were analyzed. And the results offered important data for analyzing the strength of solidified high organic soil. Through the analyses, granularity and organic content had obvious effect on the microstructure forming.
