Abstract: Alite-calcium barium sulphoaluminate cement is a new type of cementitious material. Its dominant minerals were tricalcium silicate and calcium barium sulphoaluminate.
Comparing with Portland cement, this kind of cement has good performances of rapid hardening, early-high strength and tiny bulk expansion in the process of hydration. In this paper the durability of this cement is mainly studied. Under 1.0 MPa of hydraulic pressure for 8 hours, water could penetrate completly through the special sample made by Portland cement, but could not penetrate through that by alite-barium sulphoaluminate cement. Under the condition of freezing and thawing cycle, the loss ratio of compressive strength of the cement is only about 17.3% at curing 28d ages, but the loss of Portland cement is as high as 29.5%. Alite-calcium barium sulphoaluminate has also excellent performance of resistance to sulfate attack. The coefficients of resistance to sulfate attack of the cement exceeded 1.0. Meanwhile, the composition and microstructure of hardened paste of alite-calcium barium sulphoaluminate cement are analyzed by the means of XRD and SEM.
