Abstract: The equivalent age method based on the Arrhenius law makes it possible to predict the concrete’s compressive and tensile strength evolution at a reference constant temperature.
Examples are mentioned in this paper. Determining whether the thermal cracks may develop is complicated by the fact that both the stress development and strength evolution are related to curing temperature and time. Noticed that the equivalent age is calculated by temperature and time, and this method can also be extended successfully to the concrete cracking control in structures through the use of the finite element program ANSYS.
