Abstract: By analyzing the probable shrinkage reducing substances, some shrinkage reducing chemicals were selected to be the ingredients of the shrinkage reducing admixture (SRA), and it was finally obtained through optimization. The influence of shrinkage reducing admixture on autogenous shrinkage was investigated. The results show that a proper addition of SRA can remarkably reduce autogenous shrinkage. higher dosage of SRAs leads to a smaller shrinkage. A proper composition of shrinkage reducing chemicals can result in a perfect shrinkage reducing effect that autogenous shrinkage can be reduced by 66% and 58% at the age of 3 days and 7 days respectively when the SRA dosage is 4% of water.
